CCleaner's user interface is professional and intuitive. A link to an ample Online Help feature is included, but we were able to jump right in with this program. Four options run down the left side of the window: Cleaner, Registry, Tools, and Options.
We started with the Cleaner, which let us check off the Windows and Applications features we wanted to clean. We opted to clean our IE cookies, history, and saved passwords as well as empty our Recycle Bin and Clipboard.
On the Application front, we opted to clean our Firefox cookies, cache, and history information as well as various multimedia applications. Clicking the Analyze button revealed any issues. From there on, we were able to click the Run Cleaner button to remove the files.
The Registry option acted in much the same way, letting us check off on what we wanted scanned for issues. But tread carefully here if you're not in familiar territory since tampering with the Registry can cause serious problems.
We especially liked the Tools section, which let us uninstall programs and customize our start-up programs as well as manage our System Restore points, making this program truly a one-stop shop. Since it's a portable application, it requires no installation but runs when it's clicked.

I know from experience that this keeps each user's cookies separate from the others, so when user A runs the cleaner, only that user's cookies are deleted and not those of user B and user C, who have to run it for themselves.

CCleaner only cleans the options that you have selected. There is also an "Analyse" mode that will show what would be deleted if you were running a "Clean" for real. If there is something that you do not want deleted, then you simply unselect that option Just as you would with any of the other file cleaners.
CCleaner also allows for you to remove entirely from the program the ability to clean certain options - If you want to remove the option to delete any broken desktop shortcuts, then you can do that. If you want to define a new option to clean some settings and a few files from a program that you wrote - then you can do that also.
To claim that CCleaner "usually removes things that should not be deleted" - sounds like CCleaner has an intelligence of it's own and decides what should be deleted and usually makes the wrong choice.
