I can't agree with that if you use something like ccenhancer - sure the basic version gets rid of pretty much the same thing as the windows disk cleanup, but the enhanced version can clean multiple gigs of stuff that disk cleaner doesnt touch.
But there's no reason to do it unless you're out of disk space, and even then the caches will repopulate. I run the cleaner once a month, am I wasting my time? I'm not running out of space, I just thought it was something to do to make sure junk won't build up.
Once a month is barely anything, but still, is there a point to it? It's a placebo, you don't need to run cleaning tools as maintenance, they just make your computer slower by making it rebuild caches more often.
